The Unemployed

The Unemployed is a local busking duo who have been hitting up the streets of Singapore with their acoustic renditions of Top 40s and Evergreen hits. It started out off as an idea by two long-time friends, Cheng Wei and Young Yee who were previously members of Victoria Junior College Choir, and wanted to take their performances beyond the choral scene. They have since found a new stage - the streets of Singapore’s most popular neighborhoods. In 2013, they obtained their busking license and have been performing ever since, delighting their audience with a fresh mix of chart-toppers as well as the occasional Mandopop and even Malay songs!
